Welcome to Plattr (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Your privacy is a top priority for us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). We are dedicated to being transparent about our data practices in a way that is easy to understand.

Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not access the App.

1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our service, we collect several different types of information.

  • Personal Data You Provide:
    • Account Information: When you register, we collect personally identifiable information, such as your name and email address, through our secure authentication provider, Firebase. This is necessary to create and manage your account.
  • Information You Generate (Party Details):
    • Event Information: When you create a party plan, you provide us with specific details about your event, which may include the event date, number of guests, cuisine preferences, recipe difficulty, and any products you wish to exclude (“Party Details”).
    • Sensitive Data (Allergies): You may choose to provide information about food allergies for yourself or your guests. We recognize this as sensitive data. By providing this information, you explicitly consent to us processing it for the sole purpose of tailoring your menu and ensuring the safety of your plan.
  • Information We Receive (AI-Generated Content):
    • We collect and store the content generated by our AI based on your Party Details, including menus, shopping lists, recipes, and other related information (“Generated Content”). This allows you to access your past and current party plans.
  • Technical & Usage Data (Collected Automatically):
    • We may collect information about how the App is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This may include information such as your device’s IP address, device type, operating system version, the features of the App that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those features, and other diagnostic data. This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for various purposes, all aimed at providing and enhancing your experience:

  • To Provide and Maintain our Service: To create and manage your account, generate your party plans, and allow you to access your event history.
  • To Personalize Your Experience: To use your Party Details to create tailored Generated Content that meets your specific needs.
  • To Improve Our App: To monitor and analyze usage and trends to identify areas for improvement, fix bugs, and enhance functionality.
  • To Communicate With You: To respond to your customer support requests or to send you important updates about the App or your account.
  • For Security: To monitor for and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.

3. AI Data Processing and Third-Party Services

A core feature of our App is the use of a third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) service provider (such as OpenAI) to generate your party plans.

  • What We Share: To generate your plan, we send your Party Details (cuisine, allergies, etc.) as a prompt to our AI service provider via a secure proxy server. We never send your personal identifiers like your name or email address in this prompt.
  • Anonymization: The request sent to the AI is anonymized and is not directly linked to your personal account in the AI provider’s systems.
  • No Training on Your Data: Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using the data from your prompts to train their models.
  • Third-Party Policies: The processing of this data by our AI provider is subject to their own robust privacy and security policies. We select partners who meet high standards of data protection.

4. Data Retention and Security

  • Retention: We will retain your Personal Data and Generated Content only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, primarily as long as your account is active.
  • Security: We take the security of your data very seriously. We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. This includes using Firebase for secure authentication, storing session information in the encrypted Keychain on your device, and using a secure proxy server so that your app never directly handles our API keys. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure your information, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

5. Your Data Protection Rights

You have certain data protection rights. We aim to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

  • Right to Access and Update: You can access and update your account information at any time through your account settings in the App.
  • Right to Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and associated data. You can do this through the App’s settings or by contacting us. Upon your request, we will delete your information from our active databases, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain data.

6. Policy for Children

Our service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
